Overview

QR Codes are capable of representing a large capacity of data in a barcode that is small in size.

Codes are created in such a way as to be damage- and dirt-resistant. Error correction included in the code allows for some restoration even when the symbol has become dirty or damaged.

 

Encoding

Codeable characters: alphanumeric and/or bytes; Kanji character set (Shift JIS X 0208)

Error correction and recognition is included in the code, support for Kanji characters can be enabled.

Data Capacity

QR Codes have the following data capacity:

  • Numeric 7,089 characters
  • Alphanumeric 4,296 characters
  • Binary (8 bits) 2,953 bytes
  • Kanji, full width Kana 1,817 characters
